Meet Barbara

I am a 30 year resident of Temecula, graduate of TVHS, and a Navy veteran wife of 23 years. As a parent of two TVUSD graduates, I believe in providing an environment where every student has access to quality teaching, in a safe, inclusive environment free from discrimination. Schools supporting the social and emotional wellbeing of every student and developing college or career ready graduates will create young adults with bright futures. While President of the Chaparral Education Foundation, I worked to ensure all students have the means to participate in activities such as art and sports programs.

Four years ago, you elected me to represent the voice of our students, parents, and educators to Governing Board meetings. Every parent has the right to advocate for their child. I listened. I established the need to hire social workers on every campus! I advocated the creation of a TVUSD Safety Director to continue the vigilance in providing safe schools with strict discipline policies against drugs, violence, and bullying on campuses. Career Technical Education programs should expand within our schools, providing students multiple pathways for post high school success.
