Sandy Hinkson

As a former district parent and a retired teacher with twenty-two years of classroom experience, I will continue to bring professional and personal experience to the TVUSD Governing Board.

Over the eight years I served on the board, I helped expand career technical education programs and student access to the Arts, supported modernizing science and engineering programs, put smart technology in classrooms, and invested in 1:1 student devices.

​

My focus continues to be on excellence in education, and giving all of our students, every single one of them, the professional, academic, and emotional support they need to graduate career capable and college ready.

 

As a retired teacher, I know that good teaching matters and that successful districts acquire and train high quality teachers.

 

As a parent, I know the value of extracurricular activities on my child’s wellbeing, the importance of parents as team members in their child’s education, and how valuable a great public-school district is to a community.

I am vested in ensuring our schools are safe, and our students get what they need to be successful, move on to becoming productive citizens, and are equipped to shape a better future

for us all.
